My first Mother's Day

Was kind of like Prom and other firsts... built up in my head, but really not different from the day before. There wasn't any pampering or sleeping in. And it really seemed more like a day for my Mom than it did a day for me. It might be the fact that we were in Clinton (my choice.) I thought it would be a bonding thing as mothers for my mom and me... but it wasn't.
My husband did surprise me though... HE THOUGHT AHEAD! This man never prepares for anything. He never thinks ahead. So, imagine my surprise when my sister informs me on Saturday that Scott has a plan. No kidding. I got a beautiful card from my boys and a gift certificate for a pedicure. My fave. He told me that he was going to do a manicure too, but that he wasn't sure I would want one since I do my nails at home. (I do my nails at home because I can't afford acrylics like I once had.) But the thought was awesome, I just don't know when I will have time to do it.
And Weston? Weston supervised the decorating of my brand new Marigold seedling in a wonderfully decorated tin can. It's still growing, so I don't have pictures yet, but I want to bring it into work. (I love our daycare!)
As I said, we went to Clinton. It was my choice. We had decided to have pictures of the Grandbabies taken for my mom for Mother's Day. Weston and Zoey were not in the mood. Though we did get a few of each. Paisley did well, though she's still trying to gain weight, so she is so tiny. Pictures to come soon.

My hubby is not a plan ahead kind of guy either. For Mother's Day he took me to Target, with all the kids, Saturday night and said, "So, what do you want?" Most birthdays and Christmas are like that. But in contrast, his spontaneous side means I get flowers and little gifts for no reason on a regular basis.
