You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.

So I did it...

I published my resume on Monster.com.
I redid a much more fabulous version in Publisher.
And I am sending it along to a friend's interview tomorrow.
Aaahhh!!!
Am I really that unhappy at work? Or am I scared to death that Onthank will shut its doors and I won't be prepared?
I don't know. But I am tired of faking my way through my day only trusting 2 other people and missing the others that have been "laid off due to economical issues: aka Fired for Personal Reasons.
For all who don't know this... I hate starting over. I hate being the new girl. I hate going into a new place all alone with no one who knows me. I have surrounded myself at Onthank with friends. If it's meant to be, I'll leave. But I will need a lot of reassurance and a big push out the door. and occasionally the push feels like its coming any day.

updates

So... I've been so bad at the blogging. Just too busy, I guess.
But here is the gist of things. Weston got another tooth. We're up to 8 now. 4 on top, 4 on bottom. Almost a full set. He is practically walking. Along walls and furniture, but quickly falls back to crawling when he realizes how fast he can go. I am currently planning a bridal shower and Scott's 40th birthday all on the same day. that's 2 cakes to bake and decorate and transport to Sioux City. I might need some help. Plus party supplies, and game stuff, etc.
My mom and uncle David's birthdays are coming up. I have no clue what to do for them. And work is not fun.
Oh! and I heard that someone is on Facebook... A certain someone who has been ignoring her friends for the last 8 months. I am beyond irked.
That's my update. More to come soon I hope.
(For an interesting read, check out my link to C Jane's blog. It's great!)

9 Months & Mother's Day

So... he can move now. And he wasn't in the mood to sit still and smile.
But he's so cute, we kept trying.
This is the picture I chose to have made for everyone. He was coming down from a fit of giggles!
Do you like his fading black eye? Since he is afraid of nothing... he falls. A lot.
The Grandbabies... this was the last picture of the day. These kids were long past done.
Best way to get them all smiling? Assembly.
Our Girls: Zoey and Paisley
Zoey, 2 yrs old and one the prettiest girls ever.
Paisley, 3 weeks old, so adorable.
Jeramie, Nathan's GF with her daughter, Zoey and their daughter Paisley.

My first Mother's Day

Was kind of like Prom and other firsts... built up in my head, but really not different from the day before. There wasn't any pampering or sleeping in. And it really seemed more like a day for my Mom than it did a day for me. It might be the fact that we were in Clinton (my choice.) I thought it would be a bonding thing as mothers for my mom and me... but it wasn't.
My husband did surprise me though... HE THOUGHT AHEAD! This man never prepares for anything. He never thinks ahead. So, imagine my surprise when my sister informs me on Saturday that Scott has a plan. No kidding. I got a beautiful card from my boys and a gift certificate for a pedicure. My fave. He told me that he was going to do a manicure too, but that he wasn't sure I would want one since I do my nails at home. (I do my nails at home because I can't afford acrylics like I once had.) But the thought was awesome, I just don't know when I will have time to do it.
And Weston? Weston supervised the decorating of my brand new Marigold seedling in a wonderfully decorated tin can. It's still growing, so I don't have pictures yet, but I want to bring it into work. (I love our daycare!)
As I said, we went to Clinton. It was my choice. We had decided to have pictures of the Grandbabies taken for my mom for Mother's Day. Weston and Zoey were not in the mood. Though we did get a few of each. Paisley did well, though she's still trying to gain weight, so she is so tiny. Pictures to come soon.

New career or hobby?

-------------------------------------------------
I may have majored in Magazine Journalism at Drake, but I minored in Fine Arts. Specifically, Graphic Design and Painting. And if I had ever thought I could make a living on my terms doing either, I probably would have changed majors.

Anyway... I have been dabbling in design again. Ok, and painting too. (I recreated Scott's Aunt & Uncle's wedding picture in Acrylic for their 40th Anniversary.) For the same Anniversary party, I did the invitations, the open house announcements, the response cards, and the place cards. And I loved it. I love the creative feel of the design and the thrill of making something others will see. (It's the same feeling when I cook for other people. I really think I might be an attention hog deep down inside.) So... above is my latest invite, for a Couple's Wedding Shower. It's a Harley Theme, in color and thought. I wanted to include their theme and love of motorcycles, but still keep it classy and modern. I hope they like it. (And yes, I smudged the important personal info!)
So... the point of this rant? I am trying to build my portfolio. And I think I am going to start freelancing. So, if you know of anyone needing a personal invite for a private event... give them my name. I'm not up to fancy-shmancy yet, I need to find a better printer for that. But I can try anything.

update

Thanks to all who helped in our prayer circle request from last week.
Meghann and Baby "Gummy Bear" MacKinnon are doing great! This baby is a true miracle, conceived against great odds, though the parents were unaware at the time, they are twice bless now that the baby has prospered even under extreme circumstances. Meghann is resting and will be back on her feet soon.
Thanks again!

To come: pictures of our fun weekend at Maifest in the Amana Colonies!
